The safety of staff, athletes, and their families is of the utmost importance to us!

We must work diligently together to follow the below protocol. Please read carefully!

We have prepared this protocol per recommendations made by key stakeholders including:

BCCDC, Province of BC, BC Cheerleading Association, Cheer Canada, and WorkSafeBC.

Anyone not following protocol WILL be declined entry.


PICK UP AND DROP OFFS

  • Arrive 5 minutes before class ready to go

  • Parents to remain IN cars (only athletes inside gym)

  • Parents must stay in the parking lot or have allocated another parent to be a point of contact for their child. Teams are welcome to organize a single parent for emergencies each day


REGISTRATION

  • Anyone entering the gym must be pre-registered with up-to-date contact information in Amilia (onsite registration not allowed)

  • Please note that staff are no longer able to do last minute / same day registrations. Set up your summer and book way in advance for Multipass Classes - you can cancel one day in advance but can reserve for the whole summer now!

  • Attendance taken upon entry for contact tracing purposes


ATHLETE ATTIRE / PPE

  • As always, come in appropriate practice wear (ready for fitness)

  • Hair of all lengths MUST be pulled away from face to reduce touching face (NO EXCEPTIONS) Securely fastened Bun, space buns, braids and clean ponies - no whispies. No hats.

  • Label water bottles with name

  • No bags or personal belongings allowed in the facility including extra clothing. Only water bottles

  • Masks are optional and must be secured safely. We have custom masks available for purchase

  • Gloves of any kind are not permitted


ON SITE

  • Arrive 5 minutes before class time, ready to go and stand in one of the numbers outside - we suggest lining up from 10 to 1 as the first to enter gets the farthest spot. Late arrivals will not be able to enter as it interferes with the transition into the facility!! If running late, attend online instead.

  • Use the washroom at home before coming - Our washroom will be for EMERGENCY use only

  • Water refill station and vending machine will remain CLOSED

  • Sanitize hands upon entry and exit

  • No contact with anyone, including hugs, high fives, handshakes or spotting etc.

  • Athletes will leave as they enter, one at a time, spaced out

  • No food/treats of any kind. No gift giving. No sharing any personal items

  • Stay home if anyone in household has or has been exposed to someone with symptoms of illness

  • Anyone developing sudden symptoms will be promptly directed outside to a parent to go home


SOCIAL DISTANCING / ILLNESS

  • All classes will be limited to ensure 2m distance

  • Practice times staggered to allow for limited numbers and less contact

  • Floors are marked into zones and strategic pathways to each zone

  • No congregating allowed by athletes, coaches, parents or staff in any area, including outside

  • All spectator areas closed. Outdoor practices - maintain a minimum of 2m

  • Stay home if anyone in household has or has been exposed to someone with symptoms of illness

  • If anyone in your home has been sick, or has been exposed to COVID 19 within the last 14 days, please do not attend

  • If anyone in your home has been asked to self isolate by public health or other, please do not attend until is is recommended to do so

  • Anyone developing sudden symptoms will be promptly directed outside to a parent to go home


CLEANING / FACILITY SET UP

  • Coaches sanitize equipment after each practice: commonly used areas, surfaces, handles and touch points

  • Shoes sprayed with disinfectant upon entry and hands cleaned

  • Each athlete will be assigned their own specific space and equipment

  • Flooring will be cleaned daily

  • Staff wear masks while working inside


TRAINING

  • Coaches ensure that they maintain appropriate social distance from other coaches, athletes, staff

  • Coaches ensure they do not have any physical contact with athletes unless emergency first aid is required

  • No spotting, high 5s, hugs etc

  • Coaches enforce physical distancing at all times

  • No stunting, lifting or partner work


OUTDOOR TRAINING EXCEPTIONS (ALL STAR CHEER ONLY)

  • Handwashing rules continue. Please bring your own hand sanitizer to the field or we have some personal ones for purchase

  • Parents may view stay to view however keep these things in mind:

  • Distancing rules continue to apply

  • Stay in parent assigned zones

  • No interfering with practices / coaching from sidelines - understand that we usually do not have parent viewing and this can be an adjustment for many children

  • If your child does not benefit from viewing / loses focus, reconsider viewing outside your vehicle.

  • Distancing cones will be used to maintain space for each athlete

  • While waiting for start time, please respect the practices going on

  • Bring a mat or towel if desired

  • All attire protocol remains in place with the following exceptions:

  • Footwear should be outdoor athletic not indoor cheer shoes! Does not require disinfecting
