OUR COMMITMENT
- Rebranding & Indigenous Athlete Scholarships
As announced on June 1, 2021, we committed to rebranding to better respect indigenous people and the land in which we work and play. Previously “Royal City Cheer and Tumbling Society” has now been renamed “Tumble City”.
And our cheer program is now named “West Coast Sport Cheer” or WC for short with design in part by local indigenous artist Archie Mason.
“The wolf represents family, success, perseverance and is a survivalist. The raven is creative, tricky, and even mischievous. In Haida stories, the raven helped bring light to us, the sun and the moon.”
For the second year, in 2022, our organization will fund 10 scholarships for excellence for indigenous athletes. Each scholarship will be up to $215. If you want to make a difference and support an indigenous athlete, let us know! Applications will be accepted from June 1 to August 31 each year, with the scholarships applied in September.
